The Police at the service of the regime of Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo prohibited activities, including processions, in honor of San Judas Tadeo, patron saint of Condega, Estelí, This was reported by the parish priest Mario Palacios Espinoza.
The procession was scheduled for this Friday, October 28 – the day of the solemnity of San Judas Tadeo – and on Sunday, 30, the ascent of the venerated image would be celebrated.

After the measure, the priest reported that the activities will be held in the parish “culminating with the Holy Mass in which we will celebrate our festivities with great joy and devotion.”
Despite the refusal of the Ortega government, the Sa Judas Tadeo parish published images of religious activity through its social networks. “Today (…) we celebrate the patron saint festivities with the different parish communities (…) Starting today, we wish all the parishioners happy patron saint festivities of San Judas Tadeo.”
For her part, the spokeswoman for the Nicaraguan regime, Rosario Murillo, sent greetings to the devotees of the image. “Today devout families celebrate San Judas Tadeo and ask him. They say that San Judas Tadeo is very miraculous and especially with difficult causes », he said.

“So we salute all the devotees of Saint Jude Thaddeus and to all the brothers and sisters who celebrate patron saint festivities this weekend,” said the deputy dictator without saying a word about the cancellation of the processions in Condega.
It should be noted that the Diocese of Estelí is administered by Monsignor Rolando Álvarez, who has been deprived of his liberty since August 4 and his legal status and where he is being held are currently unknown.
It is not the first time that the Ortega and Murillo government has prohibited religious celebrations in Nicaragua. He recently banned the processions of San Jerónimo in Masaya, a city where he deployed dozens of riot police to prevent the image from coming out.
In this 2022, the Nicaraguan Catholic Church has faced a strong attack by the Ortega dictatorship, who has imprisoned 11 priests, sentenced two and forced at least 50 other religious into exile.
