Regime Holds Anti-Embargo Propaganda in the Heart of New York

MIAMI, United States. — The Cuban regime’s campaign against the US embargo does not stop. This Wednesday, on the eve of the new vote against that law in the United Nations, several images appeared in Manhattan with several of the labels promoted from Havana in recent years.

“Cuba yes, blockade no”, “End the blockade of Cuba” and “Let Cuba live” were some of the images that appeared last night in a building in the Big Apple.

The images were spread on social networks by diplomats and officials of the Cuban regime.

“In Manhattan, New York, images are shown against the United States blockade of Cuba, on the eve of the vote at the United Nations,” said Juan Antonio Fernández Palacios, General Director of Press, Communication and Image of the Ministry of Cuban Foreign Relations (MINREX).

As usually happens year after year, this Thursday the Member States of the United Nations voted on the resolution “Need to end the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States of America against Cuba.” The document had 185 votes in favor, two abstentions (Ukraine and Brazil) and two votes against (United States and Israel).

In its intervention Before the General Assembly, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla described the embargo as an “inhumane policy of maximum pressure” and that it was reinforced during the Donald Trump administration.

“The current US government does not have its own policy towards Cuba. It acts by inertia and continues the inhumane policy of maximum pressure established during the Presidency of Donald Trump”, Rodríguez said in his speech before the UN member states.

According to the regime’s foreign minister, “the extremely intensified blockade continues to be the central element that defines the policies of the United States towards Cuba.”

Likewise, Rodríguez Parrilla made it clear that Havana will not renounce “its socialist system of social justice” nor will it allow “alleged paradigms of democracy or any other foreign culture to Cuba” to be imposed on it.
