Regime extends exemption from tariffs on food, medicine and hygiene until 2025

MÉRIDA, Mexico -. The tariff exemptions customs duties on food, medicine and toiletries has been extended for the eighth time until January 31, 2025.

Likewise, the increase in the customs value limit for non-commercial imports made by natural persons through shipments is maintained, up to USD 500.

For its part, the import of food, hygiene, medicines and supplies imported by natural persons such as air, sea and postal shipments is authorized up to a limit of 200 dollars or a weight of up to 20kg.

The measure was published within Resolution 311 of the Ministry of Finance and Prices, published in edition number 45 (extraordinary) of the Official Gazette, and is carried out exceptionally, reads in a note Cubadebate.

The information adds that the benefits of the regulations are applied with the condition that items classified as food or toiletries, as well as those identified as medicines and medical supplies, are presented to customs in separate packages from the rest of the products in each person’s luggage. passenger.
