MIAMI, United States. – The Cuban regime requested 20,000 pesos of bail from the reporter, activist and collaborator of CubaNet Ángel Cuza, who was arrested this Thursday along with two other people while queuing to buy chicken in a store in Old Havana.
Cuza was charged with the alleged crime of public disorder, he himself confirmed through a phone call made from prison and recorded by his wife, Reina Dais.
About the events for which he was arrested, he told his partner: “Nothing happened because we did nothing. We only went to the store to buy chicken, we even stood in line and when we went to deliver the cards a woman came with the manager of the O’Reilly and Villegas store and [ambos] They entered with the cards.
“Shortly after we see that the patrols come, two, and supposedly they told the patrolmen that we were using sticks and stones and disrupting order in the store. There was never an alteration because we were sitting all the time and there are enough witnesses that there was nothing, ”he explained.
It is not the first time that the regime detains Cuza. On May 6, after Live stream the Saratoga Hotel explosion, he was arrested and transferred to Villa Maristathe headquarters of State Security.
On that occasion, the young man was accused of the alleged crime of sedition. According to the officers who attended him, his words during a live broadcast were classified as an insult to the Cuban State. The agents, however, specified that it was not the Saratoga transmission, but a previous one.
Also, the reporter was arrested last April 27 and transferred to the same Villa Marista prison the following day. On that occasion, State Security (SE) denied information to his family about the alleged crimes against him and the criminal proceedings opened against him.
