Within the framework of the World Day to Fight Breast Cancer, the organization Sé Humano reminded the Nicaraguan State that it must protect political prisoners from this disease. At the same time, they denounced that the dictatorship has denied the family of the political prisoner Jeanine Horvilleur, 63, a breast cancer survivor, learning the results of her latest oncology check-up.
«The case of the political prisoner Jeanine Horvilleur It shows the situation of torture that exists in the prisons of Nicaragua, which puts the lives of political prisoners at risk,” wrote Be Humano on his Twitter social network account.
Horvilleur was arrested at her home in Managua on September 13 along with her daughter Ana Álvarez Horvilleur, 43, and her son-in-law. Both are the wife and daughter of opponent Javier Álvarez, respectively. They are imprisoned for being relatives of Álvarez as a measure of pressure so that the man surrenders to the Police.

The dictatorship accused the political prisoner, her daughter and son-in-law of the crime of “undermining national integrity” under the alleged violation of Law 1055, Law of Sovereignty. The three people remain in captivity in the Directorate of Judicial Assistance (DAJ), known as “El Chipote”, a prison where they are tortured.
This noon, the regime’s spokeswoman, Rosario Murillo, said that “today the whole world pays attention to breast cancer, we are advancing in the strategies to defeat this disease,” but does not allow the relatives of the political prisoner to know the results of the oncological tests that were performed on him.
The organization pointed out that breast cancer can be prevented with early detection, through constant medical check-ups, but that the Ortega and Murillo dictatorship denies specialized medical attention to men and women political prisoners.
“It is necessary that urgent actions be taken to save the lives of political prisoners imprisoned in Nicaragua. We demand a #StopTorture and that their rights be respected, such as the right to health that everyone has, “he exhorted Be Human.
