Havana Cuba. — The official media Tribune of Havana announced this Friday about an operation where the authorities seized “food, cleaning and use” products in the municipality of Cotorro.
“The forces of the PNR, the Municipal and Provincial Inspection Directorate, and the State Transportation Inspection Directorate detained two buses leased by the Flor de Cuba and José M. Duarte Agricultural Production Cooperatives,” the provincial newspaper said.
According to the information, 76 citizens were taken into the custody of the authorities who were transporting large amounts of products, which – the newspaper specifies – were illegally acquired in the La Cuevita neighborhood, located in the San Miguel del Padrón municipality.
The authorities seized 799.92 kg of chicken, 446 packages of sausages, 291 liters of oil, 150 tubes of ground beef, 81 packages of detergents, 11 bags of wheat, 395 packets of cumin, 312 units of chicken broth, 181 packages of soft drinks, 11 bags of noodles, 141 mini doses of butter, 700 chambelonas criollas, 1065 bars of homemade chocolate, 156 bath soaps —of those that are sold in the basic basket—, 660 units of beer, as well as 83 Red Bull brand energy drinks .
Also confiscated were 21 piñata soft drinks, 100 Goya seasoning, 109 zuko soft drinks, 115 packages of soft drinks, 340 lollipops, 300 bay leaves, 29 units of baking soda, 15 deodorants, four shampoos and four conditioners.
“No one has divided between 76 people who occupied the buses, almost that they had the minimum consumption for God,” said user Dayana Hernández on the Facebook social network regarding the operation.
“How ridiculous, 300 bay leaves, the policemen counted leaf by leaf, I don’t know whether to laugh or cry,” said Jorge Peña in another comment.
“Food and personal hygiene products to centers served by Social Security. The drinks will be marketed in the Trade Network for sale to the population at the established price and their values will be entered into the State budget,” he said. Tribune of Havana.
The authorities of the capital also deactivated a warehouse house located in San Miguel del Padrón.
In the operation, carried out “thanks to the information provided by the population”, 128 boxes with 1,920 liters of oil were seized.
