Arequipa, Peru-The Council of Ministers in Cuba approved this weekend a proposal for the foundation and the draft decree-law “of Customs”, as well as its next presentation to the State Council.
As explained by Nelson Cordo Reyes, head of the General Customs of the Republic (AGR), he explained that the proposal seeks to regulate the organization of the AG and its operation regarding the formalization, authorization, enjoyment and Regimes control Customs.
Likewise, the Decree-Law will be oriented to the “unlinking of the goods and the means that transport them, the shipments, travelers and their luggage.”
As an administrative process, in concept, disadanating works as a set of procedures that include the presentation of customs documents, the review of the merchandise, the determination of the applicable tariffs and rates, and finally the authorization for the office of the goods.
In addition, the new approved proposal pursues compliance with the regulations that affect the activity of Customs on the border.
The text, said Cordo Reyes, corresponds to constitutional postulates and current legislation, especially regarding administrative, tax, financial and foreign trade matters.
The news, shared by The official Facebook page of the Castro government, it was received with mostly negative comments related to the gradual increase in hinders and bad customs management on the island.
