Madrid Spain.- The Cuban regime invested around 22 million pesos in a first stage of remodeling a dozen tourist facilities in the province of Cienfuegos.
This stage included the Rancho Luna-Faro Luna hotel complex, and the creation of a maritime corridor of about 100 meters that interconnects the two facilities, reported the channel Pearlvision.
During a visit this Tuesday by Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz to Cienfuegos, the venue for July 26, the official pointed out that for years they have been recovering heritage premises and facilities to turn them into “Charming Hotels” and improving all hotel options.
Marrero Cruz also stated that “in the beach area, the hotels that have become old over time have undergone interventions that raise their standards and are totally transformed.”
He also pointed out that for next year work will be done on the total remodeling of the rooms of Rancho Luna that are pending.
Work is also being done on the Casa Verde hostel, which will expand its offerings, authorities said.
Meanwhile, the Cuban population continues to suffer from the housing crisis, with houses much older than these hotel facilities, in danger of collapse and to whose remodeling the regime does not allocate such sums of money.
A report of Tribune of Havana Last April, he pointed out that “the almost paralysis of the Cuban economy in 2021” due to the COVID-19 pandemic had an impact on delays in housing plans.
According to official statistics, in 2021, 18,645 homes were completed in Cuba, 58% of the original planning for the year. The figure includes state plans, subsidies and “actions by own effort that made it possible to finish 7,481 houses out of 16,579 planned.”
The authorities indicate that among the main limitations were the deficit of cement, steel, aggregates, imported raw materials for metalwork, sanitary furniture, among other items.
