According to the background information, the foreigner would have put into operation the commercial firm called “Frigorífico COPETTI SA”, without having the environmental license from the Ministry of the Environment and Sustainable Development (MADES).
In this way, Zanobio Coppetti would have eluded the obligation established in Art. 5 of Law 716/96 and the provisions of Law 294/93, with activities developed in the project of pig breeding, agricultural use and slaughterhouse, in the property identified as Farm No. 555 and Padrón No. 645, located in the El Portal neighborhood of the Nueva Esperanza district, department of Canindeyú.
In continuation of the investigation, on January 15, 2021, the head of the Specialized Unit No. 3 in punishable acts against the Environment of Alto Paraná and Canindeyú intervened the complex, in compliance with a court order signed by the judge of guarantees of the city of Katueté, Alcira de Souza Lima.
During the procedure, the prosecutor Santander verified the alleged irregularities in the operation of the refrigerator, such as the existence of waste water in the sinks, the lack of biosafety elements and the allegedly irregular handling of the trifles. It was also possible to observe a pool about 300 meters from the place where sewage was discarded.
After gathering various elements, the public representative opened the criminal process against the owner of the complex and after the established term had expired, he formulated the corresponding accusation.
