Reform to expand the presence of the Army in the streets advances in the state Congresses

The minutes of the constitutional reform for extend to 2028 the participation of the Armed Forces Armed in public security work advances in the Congresses of the 32 entities federation to achieve its constitutionality.

The reform to the Fifth Transitory Article of the decree by which various provisions of the Political Constitution are reformed, added and repealed, regarding the National Guard, published in the Official Gazette (DOF) on March 26, 2019, needs the approval of a majority of the state legislatures (at least 17 congresses).

To ensure that this reform is approved, the head of the Ministry of the Interior (Segob), Adán Augusto López, makes a working tour of the country in which he visits the state Congresses.
