This Tuesday, representatives of the government of Luis Lacalle Pou received in the Executive Tower members of the campaign for the “Yes” in the referendum against the 134 articles of the Law of Urgent Consideration (LUC).
The president of the National Federation of Secondary Education Teachers (Fenapes) and a member of the command, José Olivera, confirmed that there will be a national radio and television network “both for supporters of ‘No’ and ‘Yes’”.
The spaces will be between 5 and 7 minutes and will take place on Tuesday, March 22 and Wednesday, March 23, in the week prior to the referendum, which will be on Sunday, March 27.
Need to define details
Olivera told the press that there will be another meeting to define details; for example, each campaign command must define whether the messages will be given live or pre-recorded, in addition to deciding who will be the person who will speak on the chain.
It must also be decided by lottery who goes on Tuesday and who on Wednesday. “It seems important to us that citizens have clear messages, without one answering another because it is not a debate. It is the instance, the moment, to transmit a message to the citizens for each one of the options”, stated Olivera.
“Now we have to sit down to work on the content and the form” of the “Yes” message, he concluded.
