The 35% of Uruguayans would vote to maintain the 135 articles of the Urgent Consideration Law (LUC), and the 3. 4% would repeal them, according to a new survey by Teams, released this Wednesday night in Underlined (channel 10). What’s more, 28% said they were undecided, 1% would vote blank and 2% canceled.
The numbers suggest an “open” and “competitive” scenario, with “difficulties in breaking the tie,” according to the consultant’s director, Ignacio Zuasnabar.
With respect to profile of the undecided, two thirds of them live in the interior of the country. Their socioeconomic level is mostly low (42%), followed by medium low (24%).
46% of the undecided responded that they are “not at all” interested in politics, and 40% stated that their interest is “little”.
If you look at it since June 2021, there has been “instability” in the voting intention of Uruguayans, said the Director of Teams. The percentage of those who are inclined to maintain the articles went from 41% in January 2022 to 35% in February of the same year, while those who would vote for the repeal went from 31% to 34%, and those who were undecided from 26% to 28%.
The consultation includes considerations of 1,200 casesthrough telephone and face-to-face consultations, Zuasnabar clarified.
