72 hours as a deadline for the Government to respond to its 41-point statement and threatening the Departmental Federation of Peasants Tupac Katari, They were the two decisions of the rally made by the leaders of the Omasuyos province who came to La Paz to demand projects from the Government.
“If until Friday or Saturday we do not have any response from the Government on monday we go into action, for the moment we are not going to say what action because the enemy prepares when we warn him. Brothers, we will be attentive to the instructions, we are going to have close coordination with our executives,” the commander of the red ponchos, Ruddy Condori, said in a speech.
On August 17 this yearat a meeting in the town of Achacachi, the red ponchos warned the government of Luis Arce to withdraw its support if it did not comply with the projects that were promised and did not materialize. Despite an epistolary exchange between the Government and the peasants, the meeting did not take place and now there is a warning from one of the Government’s main allies.
But not only to the government, Ruddy Condori, issued an ultimatum to the leaders of the 20 provinces and demanded their support for being affiliated with this organization and said that they must make a decision about it.
“The Tupac Katari Departmental Federation,he is going to defend his provinces or he is going to defend his positions in the Government?, It has to be defined these days brothers, and if it is not going to defend us, against the Tupac Katari Federation we have to make a decision brothers”, Condori launched in the same act.
So far there has been no statement from the leadership of the 20 provinces and they chose to remain silent. This organization that brings together the peasant sector of the entire department of La Paz is one of the main backers of the Government.
Afflicted by this conflict, the Executive decided to resort to one of his affines, Ovidio Mamani, who also declares himself as commander of the red ponchos. This, in an impromptu press conference in Plaza Murillo, denounced that Condori activated these protests after the Government did not want to take office ministers and deputy ministers that he recommended.
