Santo Domingo.-Those involved in the drug trafficking network in the Kraken case called the cocaine shipments “boxes of chickens,” which they had to send to different “farms,” as they called the drug distribution or sales points.
This is stated in the request for a coercive measure implemented by the Public Ministry, which establishes that the members of the structure of the Kraken case discussed the shipment of drug shipments using metaphors through telephone calls using cell phones.
When they referred to “getting out of them” they were talking about distributing them; “chickens” the illicit substance, and “farms” possible points of distribution or sale. Rodríguez Sánchez explains that the “boxes” (containers), that is, the drug shipment operations, were coordinated by the accused Francisco Alberto Paulino Castro (Francis or El Compadre), former councilor for the Modern Revolutionary Party in Boca Chica, through the Caucedo Multimodal Port.
The document indicates that Paulino Castro (Francis or El Compadre), in collaboration with the accused José Augusto Rodríguez Sánchez (El Rubio) and others involved in the Kraken network, participated in the theft (tumbe) of part of those stashes of cocaine belonging to a criminal organization called Los Fantasmas, which operates in the Santo Domingo Este area and is linked to drug trafficking and organized crime, as revealed by the investigation carried out by the Public Ministry.
The Kraken criminal network committed kidnappings, murders and other crimes, characterized by actions typical of narcoterrorism and the use of intimidation methods to ensure control of their illicit activities.
Among those involved in the criminal organization of the Kraken case, in addition to Paulino Castro (Francis or El Compadre), former PRM councilor in Boca Chica, include José Augusto Rodríguez Sánchez (El Rubio), Melvin Manuel Fis Taveras, Wilmer Evangelista Rumaldo, Ángel David Féliz Cuevas, Francisco Alberto Paulino Castro (Francis or El Compadre), Edwin Alberto Mejía Guerrero, Fernando Javier Castro Ramos, Wilson Tomás Altagracia de la Cruz, Leandro Manuel Arias Santana (Berni), and Cleudi Zapata, among others.
