Red and orange alert activated for this Monday in CDMX due to low temperatures

According to the forecast, between 00:00 and 8:00 this Monday temperatures are expected in these areas of between -2 and 0 degrees Celsius.

The orange alert was activated in Álvaro Obregón, Azcapotzalco, Benito Juárez, Coyoacán, Cuauhtémoc, Gustavo A. Madero, Iztacalco, Iztapalapa, Magdalena Contreras, Miguel Hidalgo and Venustiano Carranza.

The forecast temperature is between 1 and 3 degrees Celsius, in addition to frost at the same time.

Civil Protection recommends to the residents of the capital:

  • Wear at least three layers of clothing, preferably cotton or wool.
  • Use cream to protect and hydrate the skin against the cold.
  • Avoid exposing yourself to sudden changes in temperature.
  • Consume fruits and vegetables rich in vitamins A and C.
  • Wash your hands frequently or use antibacterial gel.
  • Get vaccinated against covid and influenza.

If you feel any discomfort, you should go to the nearest health center.

For people who use heaters or fireplaces, Civil Protection suggests maintaining adequate ventilation.

In the event of any emergency, residents of the capital can call 911, 5658-1111 for Locatel or 5683-2222 for Civil Protection.
