The coast of Escalante, in the south of Chubut, is on red alert due to persistent and heavy rains that can register accumulated precipitation values between 50 and 80 millimeters, according to the National Meteorological Service (SMN).
In addition, the meteorological agency ordered yellow alert for intense winds for Catamarca, Jujuy, Salta, La Rioja, Tucumán and Mendozawhile in Santa Cruz there is a notice for abundant rains.
Maximum alert in Comodoro Rivadavia
In the case of Chubut, the department of Escalante -which includes the city of Comodoro Rivadavia- is under the maximum meteorological alert by heavy rains and the SMN recommended its inhabitants to avoid outdoor activities, stay away from coastal and riverside areas, not take out the garbage and remove objects that prevent water from draining.
In the rest of the coastal area of Chubut, meanwhile, yellow and orange alert applies by moderate to heavy rains, with accumulated values of 20 to 40 millimeters and 40 to 60 millimeters, respectively.

Winds in the Northwest
In the northwest, winds from the west sector are forecast with speeds between 70 and 100 kilometers per hourwith gusts that could exceed 120 kilometers per hour.
Affected areas include the mountain range of Cochinoca, Rinconada, Santa Catalina and Susques, in Jujuy; and the punas of Cachi, La Poma, Los Andes and Molinos, in Salta.
In the case of Catamarca and Tucumán, the alert covers the Andean areas and puna from Antofagasta de la Sierra and Tinogasta; in addition to the punas of Belén, Cafayate, San Carlos, Santa María and Tafí del Valle.
are also expected strong winds in the General Lamadrid and Vinchina mountain ranges, in La Rioja.
For its part, the Mendoza department of Malargüe will be affected by winds from the west sector with speeds between 40 and 55 kilometers per hour and gusts that could exceed 70 kilometers per hour.
They will also be reached by strong winds the plateaus of Deseado and Magallanes, in Santa Cruz, according to the SMN.
