Due to the explosion in a gas cylinder depot in Barrancabermeja, 22 people have been injured so far and three people are apparently missing, a Red Alert was declared throughout the city.

The other two people are adults with minor to moderate injuries and are in stable condition.”

Likewise, it is known that four minors with moderate polytrauma were received at the San Nicolás Clinic. They are stable. On the other hand, the Magdalena Medio Regional Hospital admitted 13 patients with minor trauma, including one minor and twelve adults.
The mayor of Barrancabermeja, Alfonso Eljach, pointed out that “we have a yellow alert in all health centers, we have two minors who are currently undergoing surgery, But from the first moment of the explosion, the relief agencies, such as Firefighters, Civil Defense, Police and the National Army, who worked together to care for the people who were injured by this strong explosion.

The municipal president added that, “once we attend to all the people who were injured in the explosion, including the merchants and residents of the area that were affected, We will go in to determine and carry out the necessary investigative work to determine what happened or what could have caused the explosion in well 7.”
