Interpol issued a Red alert against Gaston Fernandez Mierwho was convicted of the murder of Hernan Fioritothe Peñarol fan shot in Santa Lucía while celebrating the club’s 125th anniversary in 2016. The aggressor was sentenced in 2021 along with 15 other Nacional fans for the same act.
Interpol reported the international alert in the last hours, and reported the charges for which e28 year old man is wanted in the world: two crimes of especially aggravated homicide, one of them in attempted degree. In addition for a personal injury crime especially aggravated in real reiteration regime. The alert was consigned this Wednesday by MVD News (City TV).
Fernández had been sentenced as “criminally responsible author of a crime of internal firearm trafficking in the acquisition modality in the supply modality, two very especially aggravated homicide crimes, one of them in attempted degree and a crime of injuries particularly aggravated personal injury, all under a regime of actual reiteration to a sentence of 25 years and 6 months in prison.”
The condemned had been freed for a legal loophole.
The Interpol Red Notice is a request to law enforcement agencies around the world to locate and provisionally detain a person pending extradition or surrender, or similar legal action.

The case
That Tuesday in September 2016, three young people were injured and one of them, Fiorito, ended up dying days later at the Maciel Hospital.
