With the current functioning of the National Superintendence of Higher University Education (Sunedu), the UNCP pointed out that it has advanced with the quality of teachers, laboratories and infrastructure, due to the same requirement for their licensing, however with the university counter-reform, approved by Congress, it would return to the fact that the quality standards are not fully met, since the members of Sunedu would be chosen, not for academic merit, but by direct election of the rectors of public and private universities.
