“We ask the President of the State to protect the life of Governor Luis Fernando Camacho, instructing his transfer to a medical center. Likewise, the Minister of Justice is instructed to promote the application of the CPE and the human rightsrequesting the transfer of the governor of Santa Cruz to his place of residence and work that is in Santa Cruz”, requested Vicente Cuéllar, rector of the Gabriel René Moreno Autonomous University (Uagrm).
To this end, he sent letters to the president, Luis Arce, and to the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR).
“The life of a human being must be preserved, and that is an elementary function of a government; we want the IACHR to make an on-site visit, we want an exception because it is time to save the life of a bolivian citizen”, expressed Cuéllar, regarding the letter he sent to the international organization.
The rector questioned that Arce used “Justice for purposes of persecution and criminalization of politics”.
Last week, during a virtual hearing, a deteriorated Luis Fernando Camacho could be seen. His family requested that he be allowed adequate medical attention and visits, which was objected to by the Penitentiary Regime, which indicated that the doctors who had offered the governor from Santa Cruz had been rejected by his family.
