The member of the Presidential Commission for the Recovery of the Central University of Venezuela (UCV), Jacqueline Faria, presented the progress in the work carried out by the National Executive in this house of studies and estimates that by the end of this year, work will be carried out in 26 universities in the country.
The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro “created the Beautiful Universities Program, which will reach all the universities in the country, we already have a first approach in 12 universities, we have a horizon in this next semester, 14 more, we will arrive to 26 universities this year, plus the UCV”, said Faria, in an interview with the program Café en la Mañana broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión (VTV).
He recalled that the UCV is “one of the five World Heritage universities with modern architecture. After the collapse of hallway number five, President Maduro decided that we have to enter the University to recover the heritage.”
He indicated that in 22 months of work, the 164 hectares of the University City were recovered, in addition to the two faculties in the state of Aragua, the nuclei in Cagua, Barquisimeto.
He stated that in the Institute of Anatomy, the “laboratories, the center where corpses are studied, had not functioned for 15 years” were recovered.

He explained that the 11 faculties, “were intervened, we have more than 50 buildings completely finished, 50 out of 100 buildings. We still have a very important one, which is the Library”
Faria explained that they are working on the recovery of works of art at the UCV, “so far, eight works of art have been intervened, two of them are ready, the clock and a wooden mural that is in the Francisco Narváez Botanical Garden ”.
“The idea is to look for people from the same university. We have within our staff 50 professionals from Ucevista, architects, architects, engineers, specialists in the field of restoration of works, who have gone to the original design of the architect Carlos Raúl Villanueva” said Faria.
