The Government has announced support and relief measures for families in the areas affected by the recent frontal system that caused significant damage to homes and infrastructure. These measures imply early aid for those who need financial assistance.
For the recovery of habitability and housing, several measures are established. The first is a recovery bonus, a freely available financial aid for family groups affected by their home and/or belongings, as long as they have the Basic Emergency Sheet (FIBE) applied. This bonus is divided into four tranches, which vary according to the level of affectation, and is delivered only once through a direct transfer in the Rut Account or face-to-face payment at BancoEstado.
Besides of Recovery Bonus, temporary emergency housing will be provided to all families who have lost their housing during the emergency. These homes will have a high standard and will have interior electrical installations, potable water and sewage connections. To access this measure, it is required to have the FIBE, to have been registered with File 2 and that the house/land is the main residence. It is estimated that the cost of this measure will be 15 billion pesos.
another measure of early help in the field of housing, it is the delivery of a materials bank card for the repair of homes with minor damage. This card will allow families to purchase construction materials from certified suppliers, avoiding excessive charges. The amount assigned will depend on the degree of affectation of the home and will be assigned after the application of File 2. It is estimated that the cost of this measure will be contingent on the damage, with a maximum of 50 UF (approximately 1,800,000 pesos) per card .
Regarding the second axis of the early help, productive rehabilitation, measures will be implemented to support small agricultural producers and beekeepers affected by the catastrophe. Fodder for animals and nutritional and protein supplementation for beekeepers will be delivered, with the aim of ensuring the feeding of their animals. In addition, the recovery of irrigation channels will be carried out, which will include cleaning, mud removal and basic rehabilitation of the operation of the channels.
