Record number, in the last 24 hours they report 3,307 new cases of covid-19

The C ovid-19 does not let up and apparently the relaxation of the measures has caused the cases to skyrocket, since in its report today, Tuesday, May 10, the Department of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Health (Minsa) reported an increase of 3,307 new positive cases, which yielded a positivity of 21.5% to date. As of this afternoon, no deaths have been reported.

For today, the figure of 8,194 deaths remains at the national level for a lethality of 1.0%.

According to the Minsa, the corregimientos and districts with the highest number of positive cases in the last hours are: San Francisco (Panama), Rufina Alfaro (San Miguelito), Juan Díaz (Panama), Chitré (Herrera) and Bella Vista (Panama).

In Panama, 793,137 accumulated cases of Covid-19 and 768,839 people recovered have been recorded to date. 15,357 new tests were applied, while the active cases total 16,104 throughout the country, of which 15,956 are in home isolation and 155 hospitalized. Those in isolation are divided into 15,921 at home and 35 in hotels. Those hospitalized are 132 in the ward and 16 in the ICU.

Likewise, Epidemiology of the Minsa specified that 517,863,072 confirmed accumulated cases of Covid-19 are registered in the world; In addition, 461,448,697 people recovered and 6,278,372 deaths for a lethality of 1.2%.
