DC The governor of the Central Bank of the Dominican Republic, Hector Valdez Albizureceived the award that recognizes him as one of the best central bank governors in the world, achieving one of the highest ratings reflected in the Central Banker Report Card 2024, an evaluation prepared by Global Finance magazine among the top 100 countries. of the world, in America, the European Union, Asia and Africa.
Valdez Albizu obtained his distinction on Saturday, October 26, from the hands of Joseph Giarraputofounder and editorial director of Global Finance, during a ceremony in Washington DC, coinciding with the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group (WBG) in the same US capital.
This is the second time, after obtaining the same recognition in 2017.
Global Finance distinguished Governor Valdez Albizu, along with his counterparts, “for having waged a battle against inflation in recent years, showing tangible results, as well as for the objectives of economic growth, the stability of the currency and the management of the interest rates,” said Giarraputo.
Giarraputo highlighted that “They honor those leaders whose strategies surpassed those of their counterparts, thanks to their originality, creativity and tenacity”.
