An accident caused by a spectator of the Vuelta a Colombia was recorded this morning in the vicinity of the public market in the municipality of Corozal, Sucre.
The man, apparently a recycler by trade, encouraged the platoon that was about to pass through the point where he stood next to other people who were enjoying the most important cycling race in our country.

Energetically and with a cylindrical cardboard in his hands, he hit the floor with the object to wait for the passing of the batch of cyclists.
In one of those blows he gave to the pavement, the cardboard slipped out of his hands and fell to the ground. Several cyclists managed to cross without any mishap but later, at least five runners fell to the ground in a resounding way.
From another angle, it is observed when the subject in question dropped the object and the cyclists fell to the ground near 11 runners.
After the insuceso, the citizen who caused the accident tried to escape since the spectators identified him and pointed him out.
The authorities prevented this individual from being lynched by the community, which was upset with what happened since it is a public spectacle that is under the scrutiny of the fans of this sport in Colombia.
This is not the first time that an accident of this type has occurred in the Tour of Colombia. In September 2021, a fan crossed a group of cyclists.
Alexander Gil, a cyclist from the department of Antioquia, was the most affected and the stage had to be cancelled.
