“I think this is work, right guys? We work a lot there in the gym. I’m very proud of Chico.” [Porath, técnico da equipe de ginástica do Brasil]because if you saw how much he does for us, wow, it’s incredible. Our entire multidisciplinary team, I think they were essential for me to be here today. Because my body is tired, my mind is tired, so I need my psychologist, I need my physical trainer, I need the mass, the physique, my coach, the girls, my family. So I think it’s the combination of the work of so many people so that you could see me here today”, said Rebeca, who, with this Thursday’s victory, became the Brazilian with the most Olympic medals in history (gold in vault in Tokyo 2020, silver in individual all-around in Tokyo 2020, bronze in team competition in Paris 2024 and silver in individual all-around in Paris 2024).
When talking about her performance in the final, the Brazilian stated that mental control was essential to achieving a good result: “It was a competition in which I was very calm. I was able to make every move, I was able to think about every move I was making. This is essential for us to be able to control our body. And I think that’s why this result came, an excellent result, I’m very happy.”

When asked about the future, Rebeca left open the possibility of not competing in the all-around again. According to the 25-year-old athlete, the demands on the apparatus are very high, especially for athletes who have suffered from injuries: “For me, it is very difficult to compete in the all-around. It was three days of competition doing all four apparatuses, which is already very complicated. After my injuries, it ended up being a little more difficult, but I think that for any athlete, regardless of injury or not, it is very difficult. It is very difficult to compete in the all-around. And we have had enough, right? Well, I did my best here. I finished well, thank God. I will not feel guilty and say: ‘Will I have to do it again next year?’ No, everything went well. I am also calm about it, it is part of the sport”.
