Real Madrid beat Celta (2-1) and gets closer to the title

Real Madrid, leader of the Spanish championship, lachieved the three points in his visit to Celta de Vigo (11th) this Saturday, with two goals from Karim Benzema from a penalty, during matchday 30 of the Spanish championship.

After a penalty committed by ‘Nolito’ on Éder Militao, Benzema put Real Madrid ahead from eleven meters (1-0, min. 19). The Frenchman scored again from the penalty spot to put his team ahead (2-1, min. 69) and guarantee victory.

The Real Madrid suffered more than the account, with a goal disallowed against Celta due to offside by Iago Aspas in the previous play (min. 40) and Nolito’s equalizer at the start of the second half (1-1, min. 53).

Nonetheless, Benzema could have scored his third goal, after failing another penalty in favor of his team (min. 64).

In the other two matches of the day, Getafe (14th) beat Mallorca (18th) at home 1-0 with a goal from Borja Mayoral, and Villarreal (7th) lost 2-0 on their visit to Levante (19th), before receiving Bayern Munich on Wednesday in the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinals.
