President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva is going to announce this Friday (10th), in Brasília, the percentage readjustment in the prices of school lunches in the public education network, frozen for about six years. Resources are transferred to states and municipalities through the National School Feeding Program (PNAE). The ceremony will take place at the Planalto Palace, starting at 3 pm, informed the Presidency of the Republic.
Currently, the amounts are R$ 0.36 per elementary and high school student; R$ 1.07 for students and children enrolled in day care centers and full-time education; R$0.53 for pre-school students; BRL 0.64 for indigenous and quilombola schools and BRL 0.32 for youth and adult education students.
Last month, the Minister of Education, Camilo Santanastated that the new values should be above the accumulated inflation in the period, but did not anticipate the new percentages.
Platform
At the same ceremony, President Lula will also present to mayors and leaders of municipal organizations the platform Mãos à Obra, which will serve as a basis for mapping works that are paralyzed in the country and need to be resumed.
According to the Planalto Palace, the definition of demands for the platform will be made by local managers, responsible for feeding the Mãos à Obra database. Priorities are health, education, sports and culture equipment, in addition to housing units from the Minha Casa, Minha Vida program. Managers will have until April 10 of this year to include the information.
