Israel and Hamas come to take the first step in the plan drawn by Donald Trump, which consists in releasing all Israeli hostages if the Benjamín Netanyahu government ceases the bombing on Loop.
After Hamas’s statements to be willing to return all people, alive and dead, who kept under his power and negotiate the details of the rest of the road map, the Netanyahu government claimed to be preparing to “immediately” implement the first phase of the agreement.
Hamas response
Hamas did not stop defeating Trump imposed to respond to his peace proposal. The same Friday he agreed to free Israeli hostages under the premises of the United States Plan, which contemplates a high immediate fire, returning the captives to Israel in 72 hours and receiving in return the release of hundreds of prisoners and detainees Palestinians.

Shortly after, Trump demanded that Israel stop bombing the strip to “release hostages safely and quickly,” and in a later video, he celebrated the possibility of an agreement: “In many ways this is not preceded (…) all were united in the desire that this war ended for the good of the Middle East and we are close to achieving it,” he said, according to EFE.
Israel enlisting to implement “the first phase”
The Israeli government, who had already given his approval to the Washington Plan at the beginning of the week, announced this morning being enlisted to immediately implement “the first phase” of the road map “for the immediate release of the hostages.”
The brief statement of Netanyahu did not refer to stopping the military offensive on Gaza and a subsequent message of the Israeli Defense forces (FDI) just reaffirmed that the army was going to “advance its preparation” for said “first phase”, according to EFE.
How has the rest of the world seen it?
The positive response to the Washington initiative by Hamas aroused the call of several international leaders to take advantage of this opportunity for peace.
The UN Secretary General, António Guterres, said he felt “encouraged” and reiterated his call to a high “immediate and permanent fire, to the immediate and unconditional liberation of all hostages and humanitarian access without restrictions” for Gaza.
Catar and Egypt, the two mediating countries between Hamas and Israel in addition to the United States, positively welcomed the passage of the Islamist group, expressed their “hope” and supported the cessation of the bombings, in addition to praising Trump’s “wise leadership”.
The Turkish president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, described Hamas’s response as a “constructive and significant advance towards lasting peace” and from Europe, Macron celebrated that “the release of hostages and a ceasefire in Gaza” are within reach: “We currently have the opportunity to progress decisively towards peace.”
Even the Colombian president, Gustavo Petro, known for antagonizing Trump, said he agreed this time “with him and said that if his American counterpart” moves his army to stop oppression over Palestine, that army will be accompanied by the Colombian army. “
Israel intensifies gaza assault and intercepts the humanitarian flotilla
The Washington initiative proposes, among others, the formation of a transition government for Gaza that would be supervised by the US president and former British prime minister Tony Blair.
This roadmap also contemplates the demilitarization of the strip and the possibility of negotiating in the future a Palestinian state, something discarded, however, by the Israeli prime minister.
The leader of the Israeli opposition, Yair Lapid, declared this Saturday that the “overwhelming majority” of the people and Israeli legislators support the proposal of Alto El Fuego of Trump, he points out CNN.
