Global Traveler magazine awarded distinctions to the country for standing out as the best destination in the Caribbean and the most familiar
Dominican Republic received the awards Leisure Travel Award and the Wherever Awards delivered by the specialized magazine Global Traveler, being recognized as the best destination within the Caribbean and the most familiar.
The first of the prizes was “best caribbean island” which he won for the second consecutive year, while the second was that of “The best island in the Caribbean for families and friends.” The Minister of Tourism, David Colladoreceived the awards in New York.
A note expresses that the official thanked the gesture, and pointed out that it is the product of the effort made by the tourism cabinet, headed by the president Louis Abinader in the recovery of the sector, after the effects of the pandemic.
“This is a recognition that fills us with pride and that reaffirms the commitment of an entire team from both the public and private sectors that have joined forces to make our country the best destination in the Caribbean,” said Collado.

These recognitions are added to others that the Dominican Republic has received abroad, both in terms of tourism recovery and merits for being the best tourist destination in the region.
The text says that Collado is exhausting a work schedule in New York in which he has held important meetings with travel agents and tour operators.
