Santo Domingo.- With the aim of raising awareness to prevent accidents on the roads during the Christmas and New Year period, the RD Vial Trust launched the “Safe Christmas” campaign, with which they will be deploying a series of messages and actions to increase safety levels on the roads.
The general director of RD Vial, Jean Luis Rodríguez, explained that the campaign is part of the commitment assumed with road safety to make the reduction of traffic accidents a common objective, from an articulated effort that not only involves the State, but also that also includes citizens, who have a great responsibility in their hands when driving.
Scope of the action plan
Among the actions launched by the entity, is the deployment in all the media and social networks of the citizen education campaign “Yo Me Manejo”, which invites drivers to restraint from preventive actions when taking the ways.
Similarly, RD Vial has worked on the lighting of toll stations, vertical and horizontal road markings, toll maintenance, as well as the availability of access points.

In this sense, Rodríguez expressed that ̈In these seasons the flow of vehicles increases, and the work that we carry out every day in RD Vial to make these spaces safer places for people, acquires special relevance because this displacement is motivated by the desire of the citizens to be in peace and happiness with their loved ones, and that they do so is our commitment, being prudent is theirs”.
These actions contribute to the National Development Strategy to ensure proper planning of resources to achieve the goals and objectives that allow it to achieve adequate and sustainable levels of development for the country.
