Santo Domingo.-The Ministry of Public Health (MSP) reported that on the afternoon of last Sunday, December 4, a new suspected case of angercorresponding to a 30-year-old woman, and her 6-year-old daughter, of Dominican nationality, resident in the Zurza sector, National District.
According to the report, the patient and her daughter developed symptoms, including watery, whitish diarrhea, vomiting, and dry mouth. They were immediately hydrated and stabilized, for which the stool samples were taken, obtaining positive results for cholera this Tuesday morning. With these there are four confirmed cases.
The epidemiological report certifies that the patients are currently stable and have not had bowel movements for more than 24 hours, maintaining good spirits and a good appetite, remaining hospitalized for observation purposes, waiting for them to receive a medical discharge in the next few hours.

In the same way, the Directorate of Health Area IV, has carried out three interventions on the entire bank of the Isabela river, belonging to La Zurza, through the epidemiological fence, with the relatives and close relatives, determining that so far there are no findings of new cases, nor people with symptoms of the disease.
The MSP maintains permanent surveillance throughout the country’s border area, where no patient affected by the disease is currently registered.
