RD in legal litigation for rescinding contract

The Dominican State could be sentenced in the United States to pay 10 million dollars for breach of contract by the Dominican Postal Institute (Inposdom) to the detriment of Mía Cargo Group, according to the president of that company dedicated to sending packages, Diego Vestillero .

Diego Vestillero

The executive said that inposdom unilaterally terminated the contract between the parties, for which it filed a lawsuit in a Miami court, and that in a first hearing, held on July 13, the Dominican State did not send representation.

At a press conference, Vestillero maintained that the court issued an opinion in which it warns the country that it must be represented before that jurisdiction before August 19 of this year 2022, because otherwise it would be immediately sentenced to pay the aforementioned figure. .

He recalled that this company has been demanding from Inposdom the delivery of the equipment and materials provided as part of the contract that was signed, but that the current director of the post office, Katiuska Báez, has refused to respond to that call.

Irregularities

The General Directorate of Public Procurement (DGCP) found serious and compromising irregularities in that contract that was signed in 2017 by the then director of Inposdom, Modesto Guzmán.
