Jonathan Ruvalcaba is among the top 12 in the diving and advances to the 3-meter final with a score of 416.20 in his 6 attempts. With hopes of being able to close on a high note, the finals will be this Thursday at 9:00 am
Ruvalcaba, a Mexican nationalized Dominican, reached the semifinal of the 3-meter springboard diving event occupying the 18th position with a score of 363.15 in the competition held at the Paris Aquatic Centre, where the Olympic Games are held.
The diver was born in Mexico, but competes under the flag of our country. Since 2019, he decided to wear the colors of the Dominican Republic because, at the 2016 Rio Olympics, the Mexican Swimming Federation decided to exclude him from the national team that represented Mexico in that event.
«Now for the Dominican Republic and well I am more than grateful. They were the country, but many people were interested in this project that I had personally and well, thanks to the Dominican Republic I continued diving. It is very gratifying for me to represent the Dominican Republic, and as I sometimes tell my friends in other interviews, I do not represent one country, I represent two,» said Jonathan Ruvalcaba to ESPN.
