SANTO DOMINGO.- The National Central Office (OCN) of Interpol Santo Domingo, of the Central Investigation Directorate (Dicrim), in coordination with the Office of the Attorney General of the Republicinitiated the extradition of a Dominican citizen from Madrid, Spain, wanted by the Dominican authorities for the crime of homicide.
The detainee was identified as Edwin Ventura de los Santos, who is wanted by means of an international red notice for search and capture number A-1873/2-2024, issued on February 16 of this year.
The arrest was made in compliance with court order of arrest number 01796-2021, issued on January 22, 2024 by the Judicial Office of Permanent Attention Services of the Duarte Judicial District.

The preliminary report states that agents from the OCN-Interpol Santo Domingo, attached to the Central Investigation Directorate of the National Police, carried out the transfer of the suspect from Madrid to the Dominican Republic, where he will be sent to court to be tried for the crime he is accused of.
This action is part of the international police and judicial cooperation efforts in the fight against crime, demonstrating the Dominican Republic’s commitment in this area.
