Valverde. – «As teachers, we are going to try to do a self-evaluation through the children before the end of the school year, to see if they are progressing, to see if they are really learning what they need to learn and what I have been hired for and what I dedicate my heart, soul and efforts to», said Vice President Raquel Peña during the inauguration of the new Prof. Simón Rafael Morón Quiñones high school in Valverde Mao.
Peña emphasized that it is this extra effort that will allow students to become successful men and women.
The Vice President strongly emphasized that education cannot be allowed to continue at levels that are not adequate.

“I refuse to say and think that our teachers are not qualified,” said Peña, adding that she is sure that the majority of “Dominican teachers have a vocation and are good.”
The Vice President expressed that the work of teachers is more necessary than ever in the Dominican Republic, at a time when progress is being made towards the continuous improvement of educational quality, making a significant investment in the improvement of educational infrastructure as a clear commitment to the present and future generations.
He argued that every effort, every reform, every investment is aimed at providing students with the best opportunities to develop their potential and contribute to society.
The vice president also stressed the commitment of Luis Abinader’s government to quality education, indicating that significant investments are being made in infrastructure and educational resources.
“We are moving towards continuous improvement of educational quality and ensuring that our students have the best opportunities to develop and contribute to society,” he said.
Peña took the opportunity to encourage students to make use of all the facilities available.
The opening ceremony of the center, which has capacity for 250 students, was also attended by the Vice Minister of Supervision and Control of Mining Quality, Óscar Amargós; the Governor of Valverde, Deysi Aquino; and other local authorities and representatives of the educational sector.
The inauguration of the “Professor Simón Rafael Morón Quiñones” high school marks a significant step in the government’s commitment to education and the development of the region, reaffirming its determination to create a more promising future for all Dominicans.
