The vice president of the Republic, Raquel Peñahighlighted this Friday the achievements and advances of the Dominican agricultural as a key strategic sector to ensure food sovereignty and add value to the economy through its exports.
When attending the XXVII National Meeting of Leaders of the Agricultural Sector, Peña said that the Government has drawn a “clear route” to double exports to 2036 through the strengthening of competitiveness, opening new markets and guaranteeing the quality and safety of the products.
“The future of the Dominican field depends on our ability to innovateto open new markets And to bring well -being to each rural community, demonstrating that agriculture is, and will continue to be, the root of our prosperity as a nation, “he emphasized.

The Vicemandataria explained that The Government Work on four fundamental fronts to increase agricultural exports:
- Generational training and relief through training for young people in agricultural management and administration.
- Strengthening of extension and certification research systems to guarantee the safety and quality of Dominican products that enter other markets.
- Investment in logistics and technology that efficiently connects the Dominican field with the global markets.
- Integration of Responsible practices that protect the environment and ensure production for future generations.
