Santo Domingo Este.- The vice president of the Republic, Raquel Penaled this Friday the delivery of 403 homes to the same number of families in the Santo Domingo Este municipality, as part of the “Happy Family” National Housing Plan, an initiative of the government of President Luis Abinader that seeks to guarantee a decent roof for every Dominican. and Dominican.
The Ciudad Real San Luis residential complex, located in the community of the same name, is the most recent project to be integrated into this plan, joining the more than 7,370 families that have already received their homes nationwide. During the delivery ceremony, Peña highlighted the importance of owning one’s home as a basis for family development.
“Having your own home is the basis on which dreams are built, families are strengthened and a future full of opportunities is assured for our children,” said the vice president. Furthermore, he emphasized that guaranteeing democratic access to housing has been a priority for the government and President Abinader, providing emotional stability and security to families.
The program, which is implemented in 11 provinces and 19 municipalities, has allocated more than RD$54 million through the Family Initial Bonus and more than RD$59 million through the Rate Bonus, thus promoting access to affordable housing for the most vulnerable sectors of the country.
Camel Curi, Vice Minister of Investment Projects of the Ministry of the Presidency, highlighted that this project is one more step towards the dream of offering decent and safe homes. He noted that 43% of the beneficiaries are under 35 years old, underscoring the positive impact on youth, who now have greater opportunities for a more promising future.
The Ciudad Real San Luis residential complex, which in its entirety will have more than 1,100 apartments, has delivered a first phase of 403 units. Each apartment has three bedrooms, a bathroom, kitchen and living room, as well as common areas such as parking, green spaces, recreation areas and religious spaces, offering an environment suitable for family development.

Commitment to Sports
In addition to the delivery of homes, the vice president inaugurated the Boca Chica Community Sports Center, reaffirming the government’s commitment to promoting sports among boys, girls, adolescents and young people. The new center is equipped with bleachers, mixed bathrooms, ramps, stairs, roofing and a lighting system, among other facilities.
Peña highlighted that the inauguration of these centers not only means the delivery of a physical work, but also the “beginning of new dreams, goals and opportunities for each young person.” This effort is part of the government’s plan to revitalize and adapt sports spaces throughout the country.

The Minister of Sports, Kelvin Cruz, expressed that the new center represents an opportunity to promote “healthy minds in healthy bodies” through the practice of various sports disciplines. He announced that, by order of the president, volunteers will be established to protect and preserve these spaces, promoting not only sports, but also inclusion and community development.
With this delivery day, the government reaffirms its commitment to improving the quality of life of Dominicans, through initiatives that promote both housing security and sports and community development.
