Ranking of presidents in South America: Javier Milei leads the list, Gustavo Petro in seventh place

Petro calls congressmen who sank the tax reform ignorant: “they defunded water in Colombia”

According to the most recent ranking of the consultancy CB Public Opinion Consultantwhich evaluates the positive image of leaders in South America, the highest-rated presidents at the end of December 2024 are Javier Milei, from Argentina, Luis Lacalle Pou, from Uruguay, and Santiago Peña, from Paraguay.

The Argentine president leads the list with an approval of the 51.8%followed by Lacalle Pou, who obtained the 49.8%and Peña, with a 46.7%. These three leaders stand out for exceeding 45% positive perception in their respective countries.

In the case of Colombia, the president Gustavo Petro occupies seventh place, with a positive image of the 39.9%according to the same consulting firm. Petro is positioned below leaders such as Gabriel Boric, from Chile (41.5%), and Lula da Silva, from Brazil (43.2%).

On the other hand, the results point to the leaders with the lowest approval in the region. Dina Boluarte, president of Peru, appears in last place in the ranking, with a positive image of the 19.7%. Nicolás Maduro, from Venezuela, is placed second to last, with the 29.5%while Luis Arce, from Bolivia, registers a 33.6%occupying the penultimate position.

The report of CB Public Opinion Consulting evaluates citizens’ perception of South American leaders, providing an overview of political dynamics and approval levels in the region.
