Judge Juan Ramos Padilla said that the statements made by Vice President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner about the Supreme Court “bring extraordinary oxygen”, and expressed “a lot of disgust” at what is happening with the Argentine judicial system.
“The vice president’s statements bring extraordinary oxygen. I have been announcing this for years. What is happening with Argentine justice, the lack of federalism, and all the scandal we are seeing is very disgusting,” Ramos Padilla said in statements for Radio 10.
The vice president criticized the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation through a video uploaded to her social networksin which he stated that there “a Judicial Power turned into a political party; protector of macrismo and persecutor of the political forces that oppose it”, which, he warned, places “citizens in a situation of probation”.
“Cristina’s statement is because Argentines can’t take it anymore. The vice president has been careful, she has let Justice work, one is outraged to see the things they do without blushing“, Said the magistrate about the former president’s sayings.
He recalled that now the president of the Supreme Court of Justice, Horacio Rosatti, is also the president of the Council of the Judiciary and therefore this makes it impossible to request help from this body in case of having a problem with the highest court.
For Ramos Padilla, “the Judiciary goes far beyond (former President Mauricio) Macri” and assured that the Court “represents the interests of large corporations.”
