He Ramos Group This Monday it celebrated its 60 years in the market with an event in which it presented its sustainability strategy facing 2030, with the aim of reaffirming its commitment to the environment and to the development of the communities that surround each of its establishments.
The executive president of the Group, Iván José Mejía Albertyindicated that, more than guidelines, the sustainability gives meaning to investments, growth and the thousands of jobs it generates through its brands –Sirena, Sirena Market, Multiplaza and Aprezio–.
“Our honor is to be 15 minutes of every Dominican; is to offer a differentiated proposal with products, with quality services at the best price. Now, this is not all. This has to promote well-being and development, because we believe that where there is one of our stores, there must be opportunities for employment, progress and a community well served, with dignity,” he said.
In the last 10 years, Ramos Group has allocated more than 350 million pesos in social investments, with a team of 300 collaborators who carry out volunteer days to benefit up to 400 communities.
Furthermore, their actions to benefit the environment have prevented the release of more than 100,000 tons of carbon dioxide.
Strategy formation
The executive director of Corporate Affairs and Relations of Ramos Group, Vanessa Albastated that the sustainability strategy represents a strategic axis of the business model.
He explained that this was formed from the materiality surveya survey that collected the evaluations and perspectives of members of the board of directors, allied institutionsemployees, clients and media.

“This exercise allowed us to identify those most relevant priorities for the country, for the industry and for our operations and gave us the basis to build a sustainability strategy robust, modern and aligned with our vision 2030“, he expressed.
The strategy has five axes:
- Governance:that takes into account strategic relationships and corporate reputation; privacy and data discovery; risk management and ethics, compliance and transparency
- Customer:which takes into account the quality of the products and services offered; customer experience; innovation and technology, as well as accessibility and inclusive services
- People: includes aspects such as safety and health at work; talent development; workplace well-being and diversity, equity and inclusion–
- Planet: which includes solid waste management and circular energy; carbon footprint; efficiency and energy and the responsible management of water and natural resources
- Communities: covering the economic development local, the corporate volunteering and alliances with communities.

As part of the celebration of its six decades of operations, the company recognized the altruistic work of more than 25 employees who have participated in their volunteer programshelping to extend the impact of Ramos Group in the communities and areas surrounding its stores.
