Raise awareness among the population to reduce risks in the event of adverse events

The vice minister for Risk Management and Civil Protection, Alm. Juan Carlos Oti Paituvi, reported that the Venezuelan State, through the Great Peace Quadrant Mission, executes lines of action in preventive matters in the face of the development of the rainy and dry periods experienced in the country.

“Following instructions from our Sectoral Vice President of Politics, Citizen Security and Peace, Cap. Diosdado Cabello, we have visited several states in the country, where we reviewed the rain plan, in which tasks are assigned to the different levels of Government: municipal, state and national, for the attention of the people to the development of natural phenomena,” express.

In this sense, he highlighted that through the Great Mission Quadrants of Peace, public policy on citizen security, “from Vertex 1, which is Comprehensive Prevention for Life and Peace; Vertex 5, which is the National Risk Management System; and Vertex 11, which deals with the technological issue, we can work and establish lines of action before, during and after natural events that may occur.”

Collective consciousness level

During his radio participation, Admiral Paituvi highlighted the importance of raising awareness among the Venezuelan people, a primary strategy for the Bolivarian Government in reducing the risks of these climate changes that not only affect Venezuela, but the entire world.

For his part, the president of the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (Inameh) highlighted: “today we are no longer simply talking about climate change, we are talking about a crisis and now a climate emergency (…), making it necessary to involve people in these plans. all the competent entities of the State and Popular Power, which allows the affected communities to be attended to in a timely manner.”

Finally, the Vice Minister of Risk Management and Civil Protection highlighted: “it is important to remind the population to keep the streams and rivers clean, so they go to schools to explain to children and adolescents what happens when they contribute these practices.”
