According to the notice, moderate to heavy rains are expected, and windy conditions are also expected. This was indicated by Sinaproc in its prevention notice issued this afternoon. The entity highlighted that the areas that will have this notice are Bocas del Toro, the Ngäbe Buglé Comarca, Chiriquí, Veraguas, Herrera, Coclé, Panamá, Panamá Oeste, Los Santos, Darién, Colón.
This weather condition will also be in the Guna Yala Comarca, Emberá Wounaan Comarca, mountainous and maritime sectors of the Panamanian Caribbean and Pacific.
Sinaproc also warned that this May 1 rains are expected to reach 25 mm liters of water per square meter in the Western and Metropolitan region of the country; while in some sectors of the Central and Western Pacific, the rains could exceed 50 mm liters of water per square meter.
Sinaproc said that the occurrence of possible flooding of rivers and floods in urban and rural areas that are vulnerable to these events is expected; For this reason, he recommended that the population be vigilant in the face of any type of situation that seems to cause flooding, avoid driving at high speeds, not trying to cross river currents, and avoid approaching power lines. In addition to continuing the prevention of not throwing solid waste into lakes, rivers and seas.
