The fault was caused by a cut cable that, in contact with the rain, damaged the electrical system and the service was restored in all stations at 9:00 p.m.
Likewise, the service was suspended in line 5 of the Metro around 9:00 p.m. at the Eduardo Molina, Aragón, Oceania, Air Terminal, Hangares and Pantitlán stations. Therefore, only Polytechnic Service was offered to consulate in both directions.
Line 3 was also affected by the rains and for the review in the road zone, so the service was closed in Guerrero, Tlatelolco and Deportivo March 18, while the operation in the Hidalgo-Universidad and the green-university sections continued.
Likewise, strong flooding were reported on the Ignacio Zaragoza and Churubusco River road, in the Iztacalco Mayor’s Office.
“The Government of Mexico City, through the Secretariat of Integral Water Management (Safe), applies the Tlaloque Plan, with which it has deployed more than 140 elements between engineers, technicians and crews of attention to drainage, to attend, at the moment, 41 flooding, 5 falls of trees and flooding of vehicles in the various mayors of the city,” said the capital government in an informative card.
The authorities reported the intervention of emergency equipment at the Balbuena Hospital, in the Venustiano Carranza Mayor’s Office, before the entrance of rainwater to some of their areas, forcing the transfer of some patients.
The authorities reported that in the Moctezuma neighborhood about 15 streets reported high levels of accumulated water, affecting some homes.
“The main flooding occurred at the Cuauhtémoc Mayor’s Offices with 11; Álvaro Obregón Tres; Azcapotzalco 5; Benito Juárez 1; Iztacalco 1; Miguel Hidalgo 1 and in Venustiano Carranza 1, mainly,” said the capital government.
