The rains that hit Espírito Santo this weekend left 45 people outside their homes in the interior of the state. The Rio Doce exceeded the flood quota. The state Civil Defense issued a flood warning for four municipalities and a warning of moderate risk of landslides for eight more cities.
Of the total of 45 homeless people, 28 are homeless (with no possibility of returning home) and 17 are homeless (temporarily away from home). All the homeless live in Linhares, in the north of the state, and are sheltered in the sports gymnasium in the Conceição neighborhood.
As for the displaced, nine are from Colatina, five from João Neiva and three from Muniz Freire. The Civil Defense of Espírito Santo recorded one injured in the municipality of Brejetuba. Unlike the interior of the state, the metropolitan region of Vitória registered light rains yesterday (12). For today (13), there is forecast of isolated rains in the afternoon and evening.
So far, there are four municipalities with high alert for flooding: Linhares, Colatina, Baixo Guandu and Bom Jesus do Norte. The eight municipalities with moderate risk of landslides are Apiacá, Guaçuí, Ibatiba, Ibitirama, Iúna, João Neiva, Santa Maria de Jetibá and São Mateus.
There are no interdictions on federal highways, but a landslide partially blocked the state highway ES-181, on the way out of Muniz Freire, towards Alegre. The National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) issued a warning of heavy rains for all of Espírito Santo until 10 am tomorrow (14).
