The rains recorded this Sunday in Caracas and Miranda caused landslides, floods and fallen trees in various areas of the capital.

In the Macarao parish, west of the Libertador municipality, the overflow of the Los Angelinos stream was reported, which even swept away a car, media reported.

“Only material damage was recorded after this situation that occurred due to the heavy rains of this #1Sepand teams from the Mayor’s Office of Caracas, as well as other institutions, were deployed to the site to protect the community of this Caracas parish,” Mayor Carmen Meléndez reported on her Instagram account.

In Zone 6 of José Félix Ribas, in the Sucre municipality of Miranda state, the rise of a stream caused the undermining of the road and part of the stairs in the area, putting several homes in the area at risk.

It is worth noting that the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology, INAMEH, reported that the rainfall responds to the activity of the Intertropical Convergence Zone modulated from the Atlantic by the approach of a tropical wave to the east of Venezuela.
