After the heavy rains recorded this Wednesday, October 26, the governor of Miranda, Héctor Rodríguez, reported on his twitter account @HectoRodríguez that “for the moment, we have damages in the Zamora and Sucre municipalities.”
Likewise, he pointed out that “in the Caucaguita parish we had floods affecting homes in the Chimborazo sector at Km 9 of the Petare-Guarenas National Highway.”
He also pointed out that “the forecasts indicate that it will continue to rain, so we ask you to take precautions and call 0800-Miranda for any emergency. We remain alert and monitoring the territory.”
For his part, the A/J Remigio Ceballos Ichaso, Minister for Interior Relations, Justice and Peace, reported that monitoring, alert and assistance are being maintained at the national level due to the presence of a trough that maintains rain over the national territory.
He stressed that “we attend to flooding due to drainage collapse in the Zamora municipality, Guatire parish, Castillejo sector. Miranda to protect his people.”
Meanwhile, the legislator Johan Contreras, president of the Legislative Council of Miranda, indicated that a command post was installed to deal with the contingency of the rains in Guatire.
He added that the General Hospital of Guarenas-Guatire Dr. Eugenio de Ballard has fully operational services and a process of disinfection of the affected area has begun.
