The Dominican Institute of Meteorology (Indomet) reported that in the afternoon hours of this Wednesday the occurrence of local rains with possible thunderstorms and isolated gusts of wind, due to the indirect influence of a weak trough at high levels, in several provinces of the country.
The towns that would be affected are Greater Santo Domingo, San Cristobal, Monte Plata, El Seibo, La Altagracia, Duarte, Samana, Maria Trinidad Sanchez, Sanchez Ramirez, Monsignor Nouel, La Vega, Pedernales, San Juan, among others.
As for the active tropical wave which was affecting different provinces of the national territory, the Indomet He said it continues to move away from our forecast area.
He also added that the temperatures will be slightly pleasant during the night and early morning. He also added that the maritime conditions gradually returning to normal on the Caribbean coast.
Alert
The Emergency Operations Centre (COE) has eight provinces under yellow alert and five under green alert, due to possible flooding of rivers, streams and ravines, landslides and floods.
La Vega, Monsignor Nouel, Sanchez Ramirez, San Cristobal, Monte Plata, San Pedro, Santo Domingo and the National District are on yellow alert. San Juan, San Jose de Ocoa, Peravia, Maria Trinidad Sanchez and Samana are on green alert.
