Despite remaining in a state of alert, the São Paulo Civil Defense reported, in a note, that the storm forecast for the state this weekend has lost strength and the scenario is “milder”.
The forecast was that from this weekend there would be strong gales, with wind gusts of up to 70 kilometers per hour (Km/h). However, the strongest record was yesterday (18) night, in the Santana region of the capital, with winds of 32.5 km/h, according to the Climate Emergency Management Center (CGE).
Previous information indicated that São Paulo could be hit by heavy rain and gusts of winds of up to 70 km/h, at levels similar to the storm that occurred last weekend.
The state of São Paulo remains on alert until Sunday (20), when rain and strong winds may still occur.
Despite having lost intensity in São Paulo, the storm gained more strength in Minas Gerais and Rio de Janeiro. The CGE pointed out that the forecasts indicate moderate accumulations, with rain mainly in the cities on the border between Minas and São Paulo.
This week, a crisis office was createdformed by the Fire Department, Civil Defense, and representatives of state and municipal governments, to monitor the climate situation in the state.
