According to the Nicaraguan Institute for Territorial Studies (Ineter) and the Observatory of Natural Phenomena (Ofena), the intense heat perceived throughout the national territory will persist this week; however, they anticipate that as of this Wednesday, May 10, there will be rains in all the departments of the country.
Marcio BacaIneter’s director of meteorology, informed official media that there is “possibility that this week we will have the presence of rain starting Wednesday night,” due to a weak trough that will affect the national territory.
“Particularly in the afternoon and at night, there could be some clouds and with it the presence of some medium-intensity rains,” Baca said.

He also indicated that the days will remain predominantly sunny, with very little cloudiness and little chance of rain until the middle of the week.
For his part, Augustine Moreiradirector of Ofena, maintained that “the dry air from the Sahara remains quite intense in the Atlantic area towards the Caribbean, affecting our territory and generating high temperatures, as well as the dust from the Sahara that is affecting us for what would be the next few days ».
“At the same time we maintain conditions of strong fires that are being generated in most of the territory, being another factor that is generating high concentrations of carbon dioxide and creating a fairly hot environment in the national territory,” he stressed.
Moreira explained that this Tuesday, May 9, the Pacific region will maintain minimum temperatures of 22 to 27 degrees Celsius and maximum temperatures of 32 to 39. The central zone will present minimum temperatures of 18 to 25 degrees Celsius and maximum temperatures of 29 to 34, while that in the Caribbean minimums of 21 to 24 and maximums of 32 to 35 degrees Celsius are expected.
«For Wednesday, we maintain quite strong conditions in the morning hours of heat from the center to the Pacific, some showers between the area of the mining triangle to the northeast as well as from Tortuguero, Nueva Guinea some showers, light and isolated by the tomorrow,” he said.
In addition, the director of Ofena predicted that “for in the afternoon and part of the night (Wednesday) we will mainly maintain rain with thunderstorms in the Pacific area, from Jinotepe to the Cosigüina peninsula. Estelí, Madriz, Nueva Segovia with rains with electrical storms that must be taken a lot of precautions.
